Club Expectations

Our Code of Conduct

St Cats is a community club that prides itself on good sportsmanship, respect, and a positive atmosphere for all players, families, and officials. We have no place for unruly behaviour - on or off the field.

All players, parents, coaches, managers and team officials are expected to read and abide by the following guidelines and the Aussie Sports Code of Behaviour and the rules of the Queensland Christian Soccer Association (QCSA).

For Players

  • Play by the rules of the game at all times
  • Respect all opponents, teammates, coaches, managers, officials and spectators
  • Accept decisions of referees and officials without argument or abuse
  • Never argue, abuse, sledge or intimidate other players
  • Win with grace and lose with dignity
  • Be on time for training and matches
  • Look after club equipment
  • Never swing, climb or parkour on goal posts - this is a safety risk

For Parents & Spectators

  • Encourage and support your child and their teammates positively
  • Respect and support the decisions of coaches, managers and officials
  • Respect all players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators from all clubs
  • Never shout abuse at any player, official or spectator
  • Recognise and praise excellent play from both teams
  • Do not interfere with the referee's decisions or distract players during the game
  • All communications to QCSA must go through the club's appointed committee members - please do not contact QCSA directly
  • Be a positive role model for all our young players

For Coaches & Managers

  • Prioritise the development and wellbeing of players above winning
  • Lead by example - model the behaviour you expect from players
  • Treat all players fairly and with respect, regardless of ability
  • Maintain a valid Blue Card (required by law for all those working with children)
  • Communicate openly and positively with players, parents and club officials
  • Follow all club policies and QCSA by-laws
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of players at all times

Player Welfare

The safety and wellbeing of our players is our highest priority. If you have any concerns about a player's welfare - whether physical, emotional or otherwise - please speak to your team manager, coach or a committee member immediately.

Breaches of Conduct

Breaches of the code of conduct will be dealt with by the St Cats management committee. In serious cases, this may involve suspension or exclusion from the club. We want St Cats to be a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.
