Blue Card Info

Volunteers & Blue Cards

As part of our duty of care, and in compliance with Queensland Government legislation, all volunteers and paid employees of the club must have a current Blue Card before they can start working with children.

If you are volunteering in any role that involves contact with children - including coaches, assistant coaches, managers, and committee members - you need a valid Blue Card.

Good News!

Blue Cards are free for volunteers and typically take 2-4 weeks to process. Don't leave it to the last minute - apply early!

How to Apply for a Blue Card

Follow these steps to get your Blue Card:

  1. Visit the QLD Government Blue Card website
  2. Have your Customer Reference Number (CRN) from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) ready
  3. Register for an online account - this is how the government verifies your identity and obtains your photo for the card
  4. Apply for your Blue Card or exemption card using the online applicant portal (or download and complete the paper form)
  5. Once you have completed the application form, send an email to bca lmk uvt efd cdb ab` rsq dec @A? str tus cdb ab` tus str ./- opn rsq ghf ./- ab` uvt with your reference number and date of birth so we can link your Blue Card to our club

Renewing Your Blue Card

Blue Cards must be renewed every three years. It's your responsibility to keep your Blue Card current. If your card is expiring soon, please apply for renewal well in advance and notify our Blue Card Officer.

Existing Blue Card Holders

If you already have a valid Blue Card from another organisation, you still need to link it to St Cats. Please email bca lmk uvt efd cdb ab` rsq dec @A? str tus cdb ab` tus str ./- opn rsq ghf ./- ab` uvt with your reference number and date of birth.

Why Blue Cards Matter

Blue Cards are a critical child safety measure that ensures everyone working with children in Queensland has undergone a criminal history check. As a club that puts player safety first, we take this seriously and require all relevant volunteers to maintain a current card throughout the season.
